Being Speaker Assistant for Carolina Photo Expo is an important role and helps us represent the event and our organization. Each Speaker Assistant needs to be registered for the specific class they are teaching (PreCon, CPE, Business Workshop). As a Speaker Assistant, you will be the primary point of contact for your assigned instructor within the last couple of weeks before CPE. A speaker liaison will pass along all information as you take over the communication with the speaker. You will be key in answering their questions as they prepare to travel as well as confirm presentation details and needs. Greet the speaker and get them acquainted as they arrive. During CPE you will have several specific assignments that allow the speaker to have what they need during their class and throughout their stay. You will need to attend that instructor's class and be available for them before and after so depending on who you are assigned to so you will need to be registered for CPE Friday night - Sunday and/or Monday. For PreCon instructors, you are not required to be in the class, just be point of contact (in the class is preferred).

Being a CPE Speaker Assistant may also require you to be on the CPE 2026 Committee. Please contact current Speaker Liaison or CPE Chair for more information.

In order to be a class assistant, your PPNC membership must remain current from the time you are chosen as an assistant until the class is held for CPE 2026.

Once you are assigned your instructor, you will be notified via email from Pam Campbell, the Carolina Photo Expo Volunteer Chair.

*If you were a class assistant within the last three years - you do not qualify to apply to be a class assistant for this year.
